Sober coaching terms and conditions

1. Services Provided

Sober Coaching provides non-clinical support for individuals seeking recovery from alcohol or substance use. Services may include:

Recovery planning

Accountability support

Lifestyle and routine guidance

Relapse prevention strategies

Accompaniment to recovery meetings or activities

Telephone or online support

Sober Coaching is not therapy, counselling, or medical treatment.

Clients requiring medical or psychological treatment will be referred to appropriate professionals.

2. Client Responsibilities

The client agrees to:

Be honest and open during coaching sessions

Take responsibility for their own recovery decisions

Attend scheduled sessions on time

Notify the coach of cancellations within the agreed timeframe

Seek medical advice where appropriate

The client understands that recovery outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

3. Confidentiality

All information shared during coaching is confidential except where disclosure is required by law, including:

Risk of harm to self or others

Safeguarding concerns

Court orders or legal requirements

Communication via phone, email, or messaging apps cannot be guaranteed to be fully secure.

4. Professional Boundaries

The sober coach will:

Maintain professional boundaries

Provide services within their competence

Act in the client’s best interests

The client agrees:

Not to engage in abusive or threatening behaviour

To respect agreed communication hours

Not to request illegal activities

Services may be terminated if boundaries are violated.

5. Fees and Payment

Fees are agreed in advance.

Payment terms:

Payment is due in advance unless otherwise agreed

Late payments may result in suspension of services

Travel costs and additional expenses may be charged separately

All fees are non-refundable except at the coach's discretion.

6. Cancellations and Rescheduling

24–48 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule sessions

Late cancellations may be charged in full

Missed sessions are charged in full

7. Emergency Situations

Sober Coaching is not an emergency service.

In emergencies clients should contact:

Emergency services (999)

GP or medical provider

Crisis support services

The coach is not responsible for crisis intervention.

8. Liability

The client acknowledges:

Coaching is a supportive service only

The client is responsible for their own choices and actions

The coach is not liable for relapse, injury, loss, or damages arising from participation in coaching

To the fullest extent permitted by law, liability is limited to the total fees paid.

9. Termination of Services

Either party may terminate services with written notice.

Immediate termination may occur if:

Payment is not received

Boundaries are violated

Safety concerns arise

Coaching is no longer appropriate

Outstanding fees remain payable.

10. Communication

Communication methods may include:

Phone

Text/WhatsApp

Email

Video calls

Response times are typically within 24–48 hours during business days.

11. Data Protection (UK GDPR)

Client data will be:

Stored securely

Used only for coaching purposes

Not shared without consent except where legally required

Clients may request access to their personal data.
